Your people = Your brand, Insights into Employer Branding

In the über-brand-conscious world we live in, we form tribes around the brands we love. Are you a Mac or PC person? I myself am a diehard Apple fan. I’m pretty much attached to my iPhone. I love what a well-supported brand it is. When I need help I make a genius bar appointment and connect with a real person who is always very helpful and engaged. Apple, in addition to making an amazing product, shows that their people are the greatest expression of your brand. It’s crucial for them to attract the right talent to fulfill their brand promise.
Attract the Right Talent to Build Your Employer Brand
Attracting and retaining talent is part of every business strategy, and a large part of this strategy is the employer brand. The Internet allows a company to reinforce a positive brand message through the use of social media, review sites (such as Glassdoor), and corporate blogs. Continually improving and enhancing your brand complements any recruitment efforts and helps build an engaged, productive, and happy workforce.
Three Resources to Build Your Employer Brand
We’re always seeking great resources to help us stay on top of what’s evolving in our world of employees, brands, and communications. Here’s a few of our favorite employer branding resources:
- “Listening and interacting with others online is as important as marketing your brand.” From 10 Quick Tips To Build Your Employer Brand (via Ciphr)
- “Recruiting is a function of HR and therefore HR should be part of the brand messages being communicated throughout your company.” From Talent is the Brand (via SmartRecruiters)
- “In the same way you make decisions about the brands you buy, employees are making decisions about the companies they work for.” From ‘Define or be defined’- Andrew Collett from Edelman Australia talks Employer Branding (via Edelman)
